Since I was a child, my grandfather has passed on to me his passion for Juventus in a sweetly crazy and obsessive way. I grew up with him, who taught me a fundamental part of what is valuable to me today and that I try with all my strength to pass on to my children.
My grandfather’s most recurring adage was: “The merciful doctor makes the wound wormy!”
My grandfather never looked for the easy way, he constantly chose the non-comfort zone because he was clear that inside his fears there were his real needs. A great man who lived through the war and educated me on extraordinary principles related to doing what is said, to eliminating time thieves such as gossip, the search for the guilty, alibis and victimhood, not through words, but with the most powerful means of awareness in the world: the example in facts and behaviors.
Inside me I said: “One day I will create an event in his name without naming him as he would like right in the home of his beloved Juventus, transferring in a practical and concrete way the principles that he passed on to me and my grandfather Giuseppe will be with me in the magic of the invisible!”.
So exactly 32 years after his death I created the Goal Experience Event constantly thinking of him at every moment!
It was a crazy job of preparation and involvement of entrepreneurs, managers and sports champions to give life to a truly extraordinary journey that allowed us on 09.28.24 to enter the practical heart of overused topics such as public speaking, leadership and business management!
Too often these topics are addressed in a theoretical way while in the journey of this extraordinary day each of the many people present put themselves on the line by practicing public speaking, leadership and the concrete development of business in an objective and immediate way, nourishing skills, values, experience, motivation and concentration at every moment.
I used a methodology that I love, called “pattern interruption”: that is, I helped each person to constantly face the unexpected, constantly making unimaginable situations happen that trigger a fantastic internal short circuit, where people must connect with the here and now in no time and be ready not with frenzy, but with timeliness.
The level of energy that was created was crazy: what a joy to see people get involved all the way, do healthy business in reality, demonstrate coherence between saying and doing, give dignity to their emotions and their fragilities, showing the most authentic part of themselves.
Time literally flew by and the common perception was that they had always known each other even among people who had never met before!
My grandfather Giuseppe was, and will be with me until my last day and will continue to live in my children who have learned the deepest meaning of the “merciful doctor who makes the wormy wound!”: let’s not look for panaceas and fake smiles, let’s go to the root of things and learn to discover how often it is precisely in the pain, if we don’t try to chase it away immediately, we find the answers we need to heal and become the best possible coaches of ourselves, demonstrating in fact that our body never lies if we listen to it to the end!
